EVENTS:
Planning an event? It's often handy not to be in charge of taking your own event photos!! I love coming to events and capturing moments within the day/evening. Imagine having some with YOU in them too! Event photography includes a CD with all images ready for your printing. No sizing, minimal editing. $75.00 an hour, plus traveling costs for distances outside 40 miles from me.
SHOOT ONLY:
Have some editing skills? Just need someone to take some photos for you, and hand you a CD for you to have fun with on your own? This package is for you.
Shoot Only session is $150.00.
Session includes:
~ Travel up to 40 miles from my home.
~ Session price includes up to 1 hour session time
~ Up to 4 people in a shoot.
~ Signed permissions giving YOU control over your own photos, allowing you to print unlimited ORIGINAL photos from CD
Shoot Only session is for photography only. I will review the images we get from your session, and remove any images that did not turn out before making your digital copies. Images on your disc will be "straight out of the camera" and any editing or altering will be up to you.
Additional Fees are optional, and include:
~ $50.00 an hour every hour above 1 session time
~ $25.00 per additional person in shoot added to initial session price and $20.00 each hour after
~ If your session requires travel outside of 40 mile parameter, $1.00 per mile round trip after that for driving. Cost of air travel if you fly me to you.

I got to spend 10 days with my best friend in Indiana, and her family was so much fun to be with! I'm so happy we took time for a session while I was there.

I made her do it because I have seen the pictures that Rachel does. I can tell you that we will definetly go back for more pictures. Not only did the pictures turn out WONDERFUL and TERIFFIC, but Micah had a GREAT time doing it. Rachel takes pictures when you don't even know she is taking pictures. Those were some of the best ones. And Rachels saying is "I won't make you do anything that I wouldn't do" She is right. She was in the sand laying down right with her. Alisha McKinney said...: We have had 2 sessions with Rachel, one in April of '07, and our most recent on 8/31. The first ones were family pics while I was pregnant with our daughter. My hubby HATES getting pics done, and he was so happy with everything about the session. He was just playing with our son on the beach, totally oblivious to the camera. They turned out wonderful. The most recent ones were a surprise for my hubby. My kids and I met with Rachel, and went to a few different places this time. The kids had a blast playing with her, she has such a way with them. My son loves her. It's nothing like a regular photo session, you mostly play, do whatever you want, and Rachel just snaps the pictures, while you forget you're even there to get them done. I will continue to go to her for our pictures on a yearly basis, and will be getting family pictures done again here soon to include our daughter. She knows of great places to go and she is magic with a camera. And a lot of fun to hang out with, too! It's like just hanging out with your friends. She's great!

General Pricing

I currently charge $200.00 for a session. $100.00 non refundable booking deposit required. If you simply need to reschedule your session, we can do so with 24 hour notice. Your deposit will be subtracted from your session total if your session is kept.
"Session" unless otherwise stated, includes:
~ Travel up to 40 miles from my home.
~ Session price includes up to 1 hour photography time
~ Up to 4 people in a shoot.
~ 15 digitally edited photos on CD for printing. If session is shorter than 1 hour, guaranteed photo number is reduced to 10.*
~ Signed permissions giving YOU control over your own photos, allowing you to print unlimited ORIGINAL photos from CD
Additional Fees are optional, and include:
~ $75.00 an hour every hour above 1 session time. (charged in 1/2 hour min. increments at $40.00 for the first 1/2 hour over)
~ $25.00 per additional person in shoot added to initial session price and $20.00 each hour after
~ If your session requires travel outside of 40 mile parameter, $1.00 per mile round trip after that for driving. Cost of air travel if you fly me to you.
~ $25.00 to set up a SnapFish account in your name and load your photos to the site for easy quality printing!
~ $25.00 to create an account for you at Imagekind for custom matting and photo framing
~ $15.00 to load your photos to and create an account for you on Flickr, where you will have multiple printing and custom options for your pictures (with this option, you can create your own account using your flickr photoset at ImageKind)

*If I have more photos that are print quality, they will be included on your CD at no extra charge. Unedited photos may also be included for you on your CD.

Teen Rates

Are you getting ready for your senior year? Maybe you have a group of friends, and you'd like some photos to remember the fun times you have together? Think you can't afford a photographer? Think again!! I would like to offer special TEEN RATES to students!!

Group Photos: $50.00 per person in your group!! Each person will receive their OWN copy of an edited CD containing your group's photos, and unlimited rights to be able to print your photos anywhere. All you need to do, is show your student ID to get this package price. All photos will have two or more people in them. Session price includes 1 hour of shoot time. Additional time will be charged after the first hour at a rate of 10.00 per person.
SENIOR PHOTOS: See regular pricing!! Senior photos, in a comfortable, no stress environment!! Affordable, and unlimited!! We'll take a few "posed" shots right off the bat, so mom will be happy, and then we'll cut lose, and do what YOU want to do! Session price includes 1 hour of shoot time.
"SCHOOL" PHOTOS: Want some photos of yourself in a special spot? Tired of the photos that the school has to offer? Let me know!! I offer a student discount for "school photos"!! Session includes one half hour shoot time, at $100.00!! Limit one person in these shots.
GIFT photos: You know your mom would LOVE to have a nice photo of you, and you'd LOVE to feel like you look GOOD in that photo on the mantle. Have a Gift Shoot for $150.00!! Limit to children and teens in same household family. Session includes 1 hour of shoot time.

All shoots offered to teens include the following:

Hello! My name is Rachel Whetzel. I have been taking pictures since I got my first camera as a girl. When I was a VERY little girl, my uncle let me sit with him in the dark room that my Grandpa Jack made for him. I remember the curtains that made everything dark, and waiting so excitedly for the moment when we would be able to turn on the red light. I remember the pinks and reds of the room that the light created on my skin. I remember how I would wait for the white sheets of paper to magically turn into pictures when they sat in chemicals. I remember the tongs that my uncle took the pictures out of their baths with. I remember the smells that the chemicals made. I love that smell. I remember the clothes pins that we hung the pictures up to dry with. I remember the strips of negatives and the way that black and white were opposite on them. I remember the magic. My uncle let me sit. In the RED. and the SMELLS. His pictures had magic. The red light had magic. Now days, there isn't any red light. There aren't any chemicals. There's no curtains shutting out every inch of light. There are no negatives. Photography has turned digital. But there is still magic there. In the grubby hands. In a smile caught off guard. In the silly faces. In rows of feet. In all the details that are captured. Look, and you'll see...... The magic is there.
It's my goal as your photographer to catch your magic. It's my goal to find it in the places that most photographers would ask you to avoid. It's in those moments when you walk away from the camera holding hands. It's in the details of a baby's ear. It's in the rush of a dash away from a wave. If you dare to venture with me... we will find the magic together.

I am currently using a Nikon D80 Digital SLR camera. I have both the kit 18-135mm lens that came with my camera, and a Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF. Please note, that some of the photos in my gallery have been taken with previous cameras. With my Nikon, I am now able to provide higher quality photos.

It is my goal as your photographer, to allow you to lose yourself and forget that we are working toward anything. Bring your dirty smudged children, your sticky fingers, your everyday comfy clothes. No need for pretenses. True Beauty and Real Stories are in the every day. If you are striving for perfectly posed, lined up bodies and pretend smiles, then I am not the photographer for you. Should you be interested in taking a session with me, you can expect me to settle in with your family, to take a few formal shots in the beginning of your session, and then to follow your child into their world. I might ask you to walk away from me. I might take pictures of a toe or two. Some of my settings might seem a little out of place to you. Whatever we do, I will probably not ask you to say cheese. I will most likely do things that you find silly. I promise, no matter what, we will have a comfy time together!

Let me help your photos say THEIR thousand Words… With dirty children, and sandy toes. In the beauty of painty fingers and belly laughs. There is much to be spoken in everyday moments. Play. Laugh. Snuggle. Love. Feel. And let me capture it in a snapshot of time.
